The author of the book “The Chronicle of Metallurgy“ takes the extensive and connected description of metallurgy as a guideline. That means knowing of the metals’ and the equivalent alloys’ history, appearance, exploitation and processing, structure, properties, development and use. Such a coherent description in chronological order has never created before. Including about 200 short biographies of mainly German, English, French, American and Russian scientists and practical scientists, whose achievements in the fields of development and processing of metals and in building up the modern have never been explained and appreciated in such a detailed way.
In this book, facts from about 10 000 years of humans’ history can be found in chronological order, starting with the earliest work with metals up to the development of a modern field of science. Therefore, “The Chronicle of Metallurgy” is to be seen as a fundament of an extensive history of metallurgy, which is to develop further. The reader is given a work by this chronicle to look up historical connections of several developments in metallurgy. It is especially made for those, who represent this field of science.
