The second volume of “Mosaike” has it origin in the activities of the Italian Department of Ulm University on the occasion of the Settimana della Lingua Italiana in 2016. The first two essays describe the tradition of gold jewellery from the Etruscans to the goldsmiths of the 21st century, and the laboratories in Valenza in Northern Italy. The following essays deal with “fabrics”, from the Italian silk industry to textile art at the Venetian Biennale in 2013 und Christos Floating Piers at the Lago d’Iseo in 2016. The last two studies are dedicated to Italo Calvinos “Città invisibili” and the Benedictine tradition in Umbria.
