The 2017 German federal elections revealed many social and polical dislocations. Lawyer Prof. Fischer analyses the government’s new plans with a particular focus on the common good and stability. In addition, an assessment is made of whether general election results alone entitle the parties in the representative democracy to approve projects that are designed to cause profound long-term changes, such as the climate policy in Germany and the EU. Subsequently, the responsibility of politicians and the general aspect of liability for damage are discussed.
