„[…] So, he says trenchant, what cannot be, must not be” (after Christian Morgenstern, cited in Klein 2016).
The work at hand, considered as a cooperative task, was implemented in an international laid-out initiation project, which has been initiated in the beginning of 2016 by a University of Applied Sciences in Germany and a University in Kurdistan (Iraq).
Lisa-Marie Dünnebacke combined gender-, system- and culture-theories within an international dialogue, meanwhile.
The aim of the very same was to work out the capabilities and limitations of the social work performance of both countries in relation to their cultural-determined expectation-structures (What may be?) and as a consequence thereof, the history of external-ascribed gender structures and identities (What can be?) – quintessential considered.
Thereby, the thesis consists of four sections:
In the first one, an operationalization was made in preparation for concretization and limitation. Meanwhile, important terms, including the system-theoretical paradigm after Niklas Luhmann were cohesively, but in a selected frame, elaborated.
Subsequently, in a second section, the influence of the social systems on gender structures of both countries was under a review.
In addition to it, theses shall be formed deductively to prove these inductively in a third part within the exploration process. Statements of four experts of any gender out of varying prospects levels – the social work level and the university level – were analyzed meanwhile.
Moreover, in a last section, measures and methods were deduced abductively in the light of a specific generated knowledge – considering the capabilities and limitations of the social work performance.
